Basil Pasta

A simple pasta preparation. Corkscrew pasta is used because it holds the sauce well, but any pasta would work.

Ingredients

pasta 16 oz, (one box)
basil 1 tbsp, chopped (fresh if possible)
onion 1 medium, thinly sliced
tomatoes 5 medium, chopped
garlic 3 cloves, thinly sliced
green peas 1/4 cup
olive oil 2 tbsp
oregano 1 tsp
salt 1 tsp

Steps

1 Boil the pasta.
2 Heat the oil and saute the onions.
3 Add garlic and cook until just brown on edges.
4 Add tomato, and let cook on medium heat until reduced to a thick paste (about 10 minutes)
5 Add the oregano, basil, and salt while sauce is cooking.
6 Add the peas and let cook for a minute.
7 Add cooked pasta, toss.
